"May, what were you talking about when you said-" She was quickly shu t ablaze by a sudden explosion that tore through the room, leaving nothing but chaos in its wake. "MAY? OH MY GOD." Kate screamed, her heart pounding in her chest as she frantically searched for any trace of her friend amidst the rubble. "May- MAY!" She ran towards her friend, laying on the rocks of the burning house, only to discover that May was mysteriously unharmed, with a wicked smile playing on her lips. "Bro- is this genuinely what you said when you were talking about that-" Kate felt disgusted, almost. Why did this hap pen to my best friend? Would she knowingly endanger both of us just to prove some kind of sinister point?
Kate didn't want to know the answer. "Yes, dear," May sa id with a voice that sent shivers down Kate's spine, "I would do anything for the greater good, even if it means sacrificing those closest to me." And with that, May's eyes glowed with an otherworldly intensity, revealing a darkness within her that Kate never knew existed.Don't ask questions (You don't want the answer to). Because the truth might just be more terrifying than you could ever imagine.
"I- What does this even prove, May? HARMING us for what?" Kate screamed, her hands fl inching towards the phone in her pocket, ready to call for help. "I dont think you're the May I've been friends with." She muttered.
"Maybe, maybe not. But you'll never know unless you keep playing the game," May whispered, the flames around her dancing in tune with her ominous words, inviting Kate to the twisted reality she had unknowingly stepped into.
Kate stayed silent as she grabbed her phone and called 911, finally addressing the burning house in the darkness that surrounded them. The operator's voice crackled through the line, breaking the eerie atmosphere as Kate tried to explain the situation without revealing too much. Just when she thought help was on the way, May's hand shot out, gripping Kate's arm with an iron stone grip. "Don't bring them into this, Kate," May hissed, her eyes locking onto Kate with a chilling intensity as if warning her of the consequences. Turning back to her friend, Kate could feel a sinking feeling deep in her gut, realizing there was more to May's twisted game than she initially thought.
